Let Me Have a Lime to be Lean!

DSC00386 (1)I’ve stated many times before that weight loss can be done through physical activity (exercise) and proper nutrition such as consuming foods that are high in fiber and cutting back or totally eliminating foods high in sodium such as deli meats and processed foods like the popular frozen dinners. Avoiding a lot of sweet sugary foods like candy bars, cookies, cupcakes and soda will also help make a difference in maintaining a healthy body weight, but it’s going to take a lot of will power and discipline for some to achieve that task because in my opinion, sugar is one of the most addictive foods on the planet.

Physical activity and proper nutrition is the formula I go by for healthy weight loss and as far as nutrition being involved, limes can be added to this formula. Limes are citrus fruits that contain many health benefits ranging from containing a good amount of antioxidants to being a great source of Vitamin-C and can be a very helpful aid to losing weight. What makes a lime an excellent choice for weight loss is that the citric acid from its juice vesicles (pulp) is a natural fat burner.

All you need to do is take half of a lime and squeeze it into a glass of warm water and drink it on an empty stomach (preferably in the morning). The reason for this is it’s better to consume it in warm water because it helps to purify the liver and aids in a more proper and healthy digestion. This procedure of drinking lime water should be done twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. I wouldn’t recommend that you exceed that amount of times (twice a day is enough) because the citric acid from the lime pulp could possibly eat away at your tooth enamel if you over do it with consuming the lime water. If you want to avoid your teeth coming in direct contact with the citric acid, I suggest that you drink the lime water through a straw.

So try to make limes a part of your diet because I’m sure it will give you a natural and healthy edge and advantage to your weight loss goal by aiding in decreasing the pounds you desire to lose.
