Protein On A Plate!

If the fitness center or gym you regularly attend happens to close early during the hours you happen to workout because of the Thanksgiving holiday and you feel psychologically cheated out of missing a workout, there is a possible solution to this problem. If you are not a member try to make temporary arrangements to workout at a 24 hour fitness center or alter your regular hours and go to the gym earlier. If all else fails, you can always workout at home. If you have dumbbell weights and a treadmill in your home then you’re all set. Just mimic your workout routine that you would do at the gym with the weights and then get on your treadmill for some cardio. If you prefer to get on the treadmill first, that’s fine. If you don’t have any workout equipment at all in your home that’s fine also because the alternative to that would be body weight resistance training. Examples of resistance training would be push ups, sit ups or abdominal crunches, squats and jogging. Perhaps in your mind you might not feel the same way you would as if you were working out at the gym but your body will achieve the same positive results you would get in your regular workout.

While your body is resting and recovering from your workout, take advantage of consuming that turkey your mouth has been watering for. Eating turkey is like having protein on a plate because it is lean and very high in protein and low in fat. The total amount of protein with the skin for turkey breast is about 29 grams while the total grams of fat comes to about 8 grams containing 194 calories. Due to the fact that the white meat portion of the turkey has fewer calories and less fat than the dark meat portion and the skin, the calorie and fat content tends to vary in the amount of calories and fat. If you seek more flavor for your palate from the turkey you will definitely get it from the dark meat portion which is about 230 to 232 calories and contains 27 grams of protein along with having about 12 to 13 grams of total fat from a 3 to 3 1/2 ounce portion of turkey. So go ahead and consume some turkey, intake the protein from it and watch your muscles grow.
