Other Ways Of Avoiding The Flu

With about 15% of the country getting the flu, there are a couple of ways you can avoid getting it. You can always get the flu vaccine because some individuals feel that vaccines are important enough to take care of the situation but for those who don’t feel that way here are some alternative methods.

For people who don’t have children remember to always wash your hands and for those who have children practice good hygiene habits with your kids by teaching them to wash their hands thoroughly.

At the workplace or office get into a habit of wiping your desk and phone down with sani-cloths and antibacterial desk wipes. These wipes will prove to be beneficial especially if someone who is infected with the virus enters your office coughing, sneezing, or hacking.

Avoid rubbing your eyes and scratching your nose without washing your hands first. If they itch that bad, use your forearm to scratch with instead of your hands until you can wash them.

Getting an adequate amount of sleep (at least seven to nine hours) will keep your immune system at a level strong enough to possibly prevent and avoid this virus. If you happen to get the flu, you can take antibiotics prescribed from a physician if you feel that the over-the-counter medicine won’t be sufficient enough.
