Shiny From The Shower!

After finishing a workout be it at home or the gym it would be very beneficial to bathe or shower afterwards. Bathing can definitely benefit your muscles by lessening the tension on them. When you are working out with free weights or even the cable machines your muscles are stressed when doing so. Some believe that their muscles grow immediately after using the weights because of the pumped look in the muscles but that’s not the case. That great and impressive look of the pump you received is from the increased blood flow to the muscles as a result of using the weights or cables. The growth in the muscles start when they are in recovery mode. Taking a nice hot shower or a soothing bath relaxes your cells and muscle fibers along with aiding in muscle growth.

Bathing improves circulation in the body opening the blood vessels more making them less viscous but this is only achieved by bathing in medium to mildly high temperatures. It is not recommended to take baths or showers in extremely high temperatures because you take the risk of putting an unwanted strain on your heart which could lead to devastating circumstances. Bathing from a shower or bath can also relieve your muscles and joints. The chances of your body being stiff or sore from training are reduced also when the muscle fibers, bones and joints are lessened from the effects of tension as a result of bathing. It is commonly known that exercise can reduce anxiety and following up with a nice hot shower or a relaxing bath adds to that by improving your mood while minimizing all levels of stress. Another great advantage of bathing is that it opens up the pores allowing the body to naturally clean itself which leads to having healthy skin that is mostly shiny and vibrant. Getting a good night’s sleep also results from bathing which can have you well rested for your workout the next day.
